Our Scout & Guide Hall…

Scout & Guide Community Hall
1st Menai Bridge Scout Group are privileged to be joint owners (with our sister organisation – the local GirlGuiding units) of the Menai Bridge Scout & Guide Community Hall, which was rebuilt in 2010. The Hall is managed by a joint committee with representatives from both Scout & Guide groups nominated at the AGM. The hall is available for hire to other community groups.

Rebuilding Project
The project has received funding through the Welsh Assembly Government’s Community Facilities and Activities Programme, the Rural Development Plan for Wales 2007-2013 which is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, and Isle of Anglesey County Council Strategic Development Scheme 2009-10.

Cyllidwyd y prosiect hwn drwy Raglen Cyfleusterau a Gweithgareddau Cymunedol Llywodraeth Cynulliad Cymru, Cynllun Datblygu Gwledig Cymru 2007-2013 a ariennir gan Lywodraeth Cynulliad Cymru a’r Gronfa Amaethyddol Ewrop ar gyfer Datblygu Gwledig a Chynllun Datblygu Strategol 2009-10 Cyngor Sir Ynys Môn.

How we fund the building
The costs of running the hall are managed by the management committee. Income is achieved by setting contributions from the Scout & Guide groups and rental income from other users. The committee have worked hard over a number of years to raise the funds for the rebuilding work. It is now time to concentrate fund raising activities on generating funds directly for activity programmes, and for other community projects.

Parking, Dropping Off & Collecting
Parking at the hall is limited and is reserved for leaders and adult volunteer helpers. There is a lay-by to assist with dropping off and picking up, but for safety reasons, please be aware that you are responsible for the safety of your child until you have handed over into the care of the leader. Sometimes our leaders are unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, with the result that meetings have to be cancelled at short notice. Similarly, you should arrange for your child collected by someone known to the leader, unless you have given written permission for your child to make their own way home.

The road network around the hall can be congested. Please be considerate to our neighbours and avoid blocking the road or their driveways, and keeping well clear of their cars and other property when opening car doors.
